Internships and Co-ops
Internship and co-op opportunities exist within Great American's Corporate Headquarters located in downtown Cincinnati and throughout the U.S. Students interested in business, finance, risk management and insurance and computer science, or information systems are encouraged to apply. Requirements include current enrollment in an accredited college or university with a major in such areas as business administration, finance, economics, statistics, communications, or risk management and insurance and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Internship and co-op positions provide opportunities to learn about the insurance industry and experience our corporate culture. Other program components may include:
- “Lunch and Learn” series that offer the opportunity to learn about working at Great American, financial planning and leadership. Interns network with each other and with business leaders from across the organization.
- Exposure in specialty business units. This provides an understanding of our business operations.
- Projects encompass research, marketing activities, audits and performing financial analysis and administrative functions.
- Assignment of a mentor or “buddy” who will provide overall information about Great American.
- Participation in group activities and informal luncheons with current employees to familiarize interns with Great American’s operations and provide networking opportunities.
- Periodic “touchbase” meetings with management to ensure that the internship is progressing as planned.
